Alan was a Combat Medic and Operation New Dawn veteran. He was just accepted to the KU School of Engineering and died from suicide on August 12, 2013; 2 weeks before his fist classes. He was 26 years old. He is survived by his wife Amber and daughter who was 6 at the time of his passing.
