The University of Akron and Akron Zips Football are holding a Military Appreciation Night during their home opener Saturday night and are asking SAVE22 to be a part of the action! A portion of proceeds from tickets purchased through SAVE22 will benefit our organization! 9-11-2001 A day that will forever be remembered as one of the worst in our nation’s history, claiming the lives of 2,977 Americans. It’s a tragedy that continues to claim lives to this day. A terrorist attack that struck American to her core but unified her like few times seen before. Today we pause to remember and reflect on the lives of those lost, especially the first responders who went into the burning towers despite the fate that they faced. We think of the families who have gone 23 years without their loved ones. And we stand with those who survived the attacks but continue to face demons from those attacks to this day. Though thousands may no longer be with us, their lives were not lost in vain and we shall never forget their memory nor their sacrifice to this great nation. During Suicide Prevention Month in September, September 10th marks World Suicide Prevention Day. Suicide ranks as the 11th leading cause of death in the United States.
