Every year, the third Friday in September marks a national day of remembrance and recognition for our nation’s Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action.

The holiday was established through a proclamation in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter and every year since, the President has issued a proclamation commemorating the third Friday in September as national POW/MIA day.

We think of those missing and pray for their safe return home. We pray for their families who go to bed wondering where their loved ones are.
